Mr. Tabe specializes in mechanical, electronic, and electrical engineering. He is also qualified to represent parties in court in IP infringement litigation. During his tenure at the JPO, he worked extensively on patent examinations and appeal examinations in the fields of optical equipment and optical devices. He was also involved in litigation cases as a representative of the JPO. From 2004 to 2007, Mr. Tabe was a judicial research official of the intellectual property department at the Osaka District Court and the intellectual property department at the Osaka High Court.
