Comments from Speaker:
A Japanese design application is allowed to contain only one design. In some countries, it is possible to contain multiple designs or embodiments in one application. It would be desirable to understand the unity requirement in Japan in order to appropriately file Japanese design applications claiming priority based on the priority application with multiple designs/embodiments.

Tomohiro Gyoda, a patent and trademark attorney with rich experience in design prosecution, will explain the basic issues about the unity requirement. He plans to make further webinars focusing on more specific issues about the unity requirement (i.e. the requirement for designs with disclaimer and the requirement for GUIs). For a better comprehension of the future webinars, we hope you will attend this first webinar.
